go - on的on是介詞還是副詞

副詞

1、 繼續向…前進：

The plane stops in Shanghai before going on to Beijing. 飛機在上海停留一下，接着繼續飛向北京。

2、 先去，前去(某地)：

I'll go on to the office and leave the briefcase， and meet you here afterwards. 我先到辦公室去放公文箱，然後在這裏與你碰頭。 

3、 轉入，開始(另一行動)：

The Chairman said that as time was short， we should go on to the next item. 主席説由於時間短，我們應轉入下一項議程。

4、 開始(另一工作時間的安排)：

Many factories have had to go on to short time because trade is so bad. 由於交易清淡，許多工廠不得不縮短工作時間。

介詞後面是必須要接賓語的（所有介詞都必須接賓語），而 go on 後面的 to…顯然不可能是賓語。
