其它用法:

表示所有關係、表動賓關係、表同位關係。

表示所有關係，用以構成名詞所有格。如：the secret of success成功的祕訣。the cover of the book那本書的封面。the role of the student學生的角色。

表示動賓關係，of前是表示動作的名詞或動名詞，of 後的名詞是動作的對象。如：protection of natural circumstance保護自然環境。the realization of our dream實現我們的夢想.。he love of one's country他熱愛自己的祖國。

表示同位關係，of前的名詞與of後的名詞指的是同一人物或事。如：the city of Shanghai上海市。the month of Ocober 十月。the age of 16十六歲。the three of us我們3個人。

表示部分與總體的關係，of前是不定代詞，如：some，any， many， much， few， all， both，either， neither，none等。如：none of them他們中沒有一個人。some of his questions他的一些問題。many of the customers許多顧客。

of前是基數詞，分數，百分比等，注意這種用法前無定冠詞限定。如：six of them他們中的六個人。two fifths of the apples.蘋果的五分之二。

of前是序數詞，of後接月份，表示日期。如:the first of June元月一日。

of前是the+最高級，或of後是the+最高級皆可，但要注意翻譯。如:This is the best of all choices.在各種方法中這種最好。the most expensive of the presents那些禮物中最貴者。the day of the happiest of mylife我一生中最快樂的一天。

名詞單數+of+同一名詞複數，表示最突出的。如:the hero of heroes最傑出的英雄。in ones heart of hearts在某人心底深處。
