since和过去完成时能否搭配

since的意思是“自从…”，通常指h自从过去某一点时间一直延续到现在，所以since通常情况下用于现在完成时态。如：I haven't seen them since I graduated from university. 自从我大学毕业以后到现在，我没有见过他们。

但是在某些特殊场合since也可以和过去完成时态搭配使用，如在宾语从句中，当主句是过去的时候。如：They said they hadn't seen each other since they graduated from university.
