convenient主語為什麼不能是人

convenient的實際意思是“使人感到方便的”，而不是“(自己)感覺到方便的”，所以它的主語通常不能是人。如：

Railway is convenient. 鐵路方便。

通常情況下，convenient 後接不定式 to do sth 時，它的主語應是形式主語 it，而不是具體的人或物。如：

It’s more convenient to eat in the canteen. 在食堂吃飯比較方便。

I think it is convenient to leave at once. 我認為馬上離開較適合。

It is convenient to have the bus stop so close. 公共汽車站這麼近，真方便。

▲但這類結構有時也可能沒有形式主語，而直接用“人”或“物”作主語，不過此時句子的主語必須是其後不定式的邏輯賓語。如：

Mary is convenient to see on Sunday. ＝ It’s convenient to see Mary on Sunday. 星期天見瑪麗較為方便。
