也可以用來表示其他：就此範圍(程度)來説

You can go only so far on five dollars.

你頂多花五美元。

區別：so far 概括的時間範圍要比 up till now 廣 ，up till now 絕大多數情況下表示“直到我講話的這個時間為止，就是直到眼下”的意思，而後 so far 可以表示“到最近這一段時間為止”。
